When relining is the right approach

• Damaged drainage or waste pipes running under floors, driveways, or gardens, where excavation would be disruptive and expensive
• Pipes with multiple small defects along their length, where individual repairs at each point would be more time-consuming and costly than one continuous reline
• Older pipework showing general deterioration rather than one isolated failure point, where relining extends the working life of the whole run

How relining works

After confirming the pipe's condition with a CCTV survey, we clean the existing pipe thoroughly to remove debris, scale, and root intrusion. A flexible lining material, saturated with resin, is then inserted into the pipe and cured, either using heat, UV light, or simply time depending on the specific lining system used. Once cured, the lining forms a smooth, durable new inner surface within the original pipe.

Why relining can be the better choice over excavation

Digging up a pipe to replace it, particularly under a driveway, patio, or inside a building's foundations, is disruptive and expensive, involving reinstatement of whatever surface sits above the pipe once the work is done. Relining avoids this entirely, since the repair happens entirely within the existing pipe. For the right type of damage, it's a significantly less disruptive and often more cost-effective solution.

What relining can't fix

Relining isn't suitable for every situation. A pipe that's fully collapsed, significantly displaced, or has a severe structural failure generally still needs excavation and replacement, since there's not enough of the original pipe structure left to line successfully. We'll always confirm with a proper survey whether relining is genuinely viable before recommending it over excavation.
