Tap Installation and Replacement in Cheshire

Taps

Fitting a new tap sounds simple, and the tap itself usually is. What catches people out is everything underneath the sink or basin: old isolation valves that won't turn, mismatched pipe fittings, or supply pipes that don't line up with a new tap's connections. We fit taps properly the first time, including sorting out whatever's underneath if it needs attention before the new tap goes on.

Taps we install

  • Mixer taps for kitchens and bathrooms
  • Monobloc taps, single-body taps with a single hole fitting
  • Pillar taps with separate hot and cold
  • Boiling water taps such as Quooker, which need a dedicated electrical and water connection alongside the standard supply
  • Bidet taps and fittings
  • Wall-mounted taps, which need the supply pipework positioned correctly within the wall before tiling

What's included

  • Removing the old tap and checking the condition of the isolation valves and supply pipes underneath
  • Fitting new flexible tap connectors where needed to bridge between old and new fitting standards
  • Installing the new tap, sealing correctly to avoid water getting underneath the worktop or basin
  • Testing for leaks under pressure before we finish, including checking the full range of the tap's movement where applicable

Dealing with what's underneath

Older homes around Sandbach, Congleton, and Crewe sometimes have isolation valves that have seized from age and hard water buildup. If that's the case, we'll replace them as part of the job rather than forcing a tap fit around a valve that's about to fail anyway. It's a small additional job at the time of fitting compared to an emergency call-out a few months later when a seized valve finally gives way.

Boiling water and instant hot taps

These have become increasingly popular in kitchens, but they need a dedicated under-sink tank, separate electrical supply, and careful positioning since the tank takes up cabinet space. We'll check your kitchen layout can accommodate one properly before quoting, so there are no surprises when the unit arrives.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. These need a dedicated electrical supply and a separate water tank fitted under the sink, so there's more involved than a standard tap. We can talk you through the requirements before fitting.
