Shower Installation in Cheshire
Fitting a new shower is one of the jobs we get asked for most across Cheshire, whether that's replacing an old unit that's stopped working properly or putting a shower in for the first time as part of a bathroom refit. The right shower for your home depends on a few things: your water pressure, whether you've got a combi boiler or a stored hot water system, and what you actually want day to day. We fit electric showers, mixer showers, power showers, and digital showers. If you're not sure which suits your setup, that's normal, most people aren't. We'll have a look at your existing pipework and your boiler or cylinder and tell you straight what will and won't work, rather than just fitting whatever's easiest for us to install.
What's involved
- Removing the old shower unit and making good the wall and tiling around it
- Running new pipework where needed, including upgrading pipe sizes if your current setup is restricting flow
- Electrical connection for electric showers, carried out to current wiring regulations
- Fitting the new shower, valve, and any additional fittings like a riser rail, slide rail, or rainfall head
- Testing thoroughly before we leave, including checking pressure and temperature stability across both hot and cold settings
Choosing the right shower for your home
A lot of the older properties we work on around Knutsford, Nantwich, and Chester have combination boilers that simply can't supply the flow rate a power shower needs, so we'll always check this before quoting rather than after fitting something that won't perform. If your existing pressure is genuinely low, an electric shower that heats water on demand is often a better fit than trying to boost pressure on a system that was never designed for it. We'd rather talk you through this properly at the quote stage than have you end up with a shower that disappoints once it's in.
Getting the timing right
If you're having a full bathroom refit, the shower is usually one of the last fixtures fitted, after tiling is complete. We're happy to coordinate timing with your tiler or bathroom fitter so the install happens at the right point in the project rather than causing delays elsewhere.
