Sink Installation and Repair in Cheshire
Kitchen sinks take a lot of daily use, and that means both installation and ongoing repair are jobs we get called for regularly. Whether you're fitting a new sink as part of a kitchen upgrade or dealing with a leak or blockage under an existing one, getting the connections right underneath matters as much as the sink itself, since most sink problems actually originate in the pipework rather than the sink basin.
Installation
We fit single and double bowl sinks, undermount sinks, and Belfast or butler sinks. Each has different fitting requirements, particularly Belfast sinks which need proper support given their weight and the way they sit within the worktop or cabinet. We connect the waste, overflow, and tap supply, sealing everything to prevent water getting under the worktop where it can cause damage that isn't visible until it's already done.
Repair
Common sink problems we fix include:
- Leaking waste connections under the sink, often the most common call-out we get for kitchen sinks
- Blocked or slow-draining sink, often a buildup in the trap or further down the waste pipe
- Worn or perished sealant causing water to track under the worktop and potentially damage cabinetry below
- Faulty waste disposal connections, which can affect how the sink drains even when the disposal unit isn't running
Why under-sink leaks often go unnoticed for a while
A leak under a sink, particularly a slow one, can go unnoticed for weeks because it's hidden inside a cabinet that isn't checked often. By the time it's spotted, there can already be damage to the cabinet base or flooring beneath. If you store cleaning products or anything else under your sink, it's worth having a look every so often, and if you notice any dampness or a musty smell, getting it checked promptly saves a bigger repair later.
